PA-80V/U Dual Band VHF/UHF Power Amplifier 2m & 70cm, 85W, FM

The TOPTEK PA-80V/U is a dual-band power amplifier covering both VHF (138–174 MHz) and UHF (430–470 MHz), designed primarily for use with dual-band handheld FM transceivers. The amplifier automatically detects the transmitting frequency and switches to the appropriate signal path — no manual band selection required.

Independent ALC-controlled power output settings for VHF and UHF allow each band to be optimised separately. A moving-dot SWR display provides real-time VSWR readings from 1.20 to 1.90, with LED blink indicators for underrange (below 1.20) and overrange (above 2.00). Twin MOSFET push-pull amplifiers — one per band — deliver 85W ALC-limited output from 5W of input drive, with 60dBc harmonic suppression.

Note: AM mode can be used with caution — set ALC power to maximum and adjust drive to achieve approximately 20–30W output, leaving headroom for modulation peaks. ALC must not engage during modulation.
